The project began with a question: who am I? Not only as a person, but as part of a territory, a history, an inheritance.
The exercise asked us to choose a Latin American painter, study their work, their gaze, their sources of inspiration. From there, to build a print that reflected my own identity.
I chose Oswaldo Guayasamín. And I chose cinema.

Since I was a child I've had a strong connection with cinema. In defining who I am, I couldn't leave it out. The painting was made by hand, following Guayasamín's model. From it, a print was born that completes it.
